A walk of 18km along the old railway. We got going some time after 10.

The old rail line cuts through steeper country here.
There are bridges to cross and tunnels to go through.
It’s a sunny warm day, we stop for snacks and at a cafe half-way for exotic ice-creams, but still arrive early.

Not much to see at Bedarieux, we are in a hotel next to the station, rather run-down. We could have got a train to Narbonne tonight, but I’ve booked the hotel, thinking the walk might take longer, so we stay here. No restaurant open, we eat at a take-away pizza place in a car-park, seated on plastic chairs outside, beer and pizza balanced on a beer barrel for a table. The joys of self-guided travel.
