History
Narbonne was a big centre during Roman times and there is a rather terrific museum of Roman stuff on the outskirts of town, on entering you are faced by a huge “wall” of exhibits, in a large glass atrium, blocks of carved stone piled up on glass-and-steel shelves from floor to ceiling, most impressive.

Food
Martini Bianco, or Campari. Butternut squash soup with parmesan foam and a soft-boiled egg, Monkfish and vegetables, apple-filled tarte tatin with cream. Good wine. And so to bed.
