This is my third fay with over 80km riding and over 1,200m of climbing. I am flagging a bit.

Somehow I have to get over these volcanoes. They seem o long way off.

But they are getting closer.

And closer. This is “Puy-de-Dome, it was an active volcano 5,000 years ago. It was a major mountain stage in this year’s Tour de France, It has a big pole on top, for some reason.
I go over the pass just to the right – it is still quite a hill.

And it is a long way down on the other side, which is nice. But the sat-nav takes me on this stretch of “Roman Road” which is rather bumpy, and I have to walk most of it, but I’m nearly there and don’t mind a mile or so walking through the woods.
Then Cleremont Ferrand at last and two days of much-needed rest!
